Big Pond to Alder Lake Hike | Sunday, January 28, 10 am

IMG_4978Join us for what will hopefully be a snowshoe hike between Big Pond and Alder Lake and return. It is a nice walk over several rolling hills and past an old homestead.

Event Duration:  7 miles, 4.25 hours

Level of Difficulty:  Moderate

NOTE: This event was rescheduled from January 14 due to weather. Please sign-up again if you were previously registered.

Leader(s): Bob Moses

Bring: lunch, something to drink, good hiking shoes, foot traction device, snowshoes, microspikes, warm clothing, hand warmers, camera.

Group size is limited to 12, so register early.

Dogs allowed: Yes, only with permission of event leader

From Margaetville: go west on SR 30 for 11 miles to the Shavertown Bridge. Cross the bridge and take a left towards the Barkaboon Rd. Then go 5 miles south, just past Big Pond, to the parking lot just uphill on the left .

From Livingston Manor: take the Beaverkill Rd, and bear left at Barkaboon Rd., just past Little Pond, to the Big Pond Trail Head. 12 miles total.
