Long Pond

Long Pond is located in the Willowemoc Wild Forest of Sullivan County.  This is a fairly level hike to a lean-to on Long Pond. Two miles in and the same on the return.  Suitable for hikers of all abilities.  Child-friendly.

Event Duration:  4 miles, 3 hours

Level of Difficulty:  Easy-Moderate

Bring: good hiking shoes, lunch, snacks, bug spray, plenty to drink, map and compass (recommended),

Group size is limited to 12, so register early.

Dogs allowed:  Yes, only with permission of event leader

Driving Directions:  Turn off Route 28 in Big Indian on County route 47 past Frost Valley; Hard right up the hill past Round Pond, continue on Pole Road and then a right on Flugertown Road about 1/4 mile to parking area. This is hike #109 on the Catskill Park Trails Illustrated Map.
