View south from Middle Mountain

This hike starts from Berry Brook Rd, and begins by following the Mary Smith trail West to the junction with the Pelnor Hollow trail. From the junction there’s an optional side trip to a great view at the Split Rock Lookout. Next we’ll return East on Mary Smith past our starting point, and continue on the Mary Smith and Middle Mountain trails to Beech Hill Rd.

Bring: Comfortable hiking boots, hiking poles are recommended, lunch, snacks, at least 2 liters of water/sports drink, sun screen, bug repellent.

Additional Information:  For those working on the Catskills All Trails Challenge, this hike completes the Mary Smith Trail (Map 144), and the Middle Mountain Trail (Map 144).

This is where the hike will finish.
