Hike these trailless high peaks with Marv Freedman and friends. This hike is a 6.5-mile bushwack with a 2300’ ascent and is rated moderate-to-difficult. The pace of the hike will be moderate (about 1-1/2 mph moving speed, typically) with steep climbs and short breaks.
Hikers need to bring water/ sports drink, lunch/ snacks, sturdy water-resistant boots, proper layered clothing, and gaiters and hiking poles are recommended. We expect the hike to take about six hours.

We will meet at the Shaft Road parking area off State Route 42 at 8 am and coordinate the shuttle.

Driving directions: From the north, take State Route 23A to State Route 42. Go 7.6 miles on Route 42 and turn left. Continue on the short gravel road through the line of trees, and the parking area is on the right.
From the south, take State Route 28 to State Route 42. Take Route 42 3.75 miles and turn right. Continue on the short gravel road through the line of trees, and the parking area is on the right.
