North-South Lake Hike

Join Al Purdy for this 5.25-mile hike that will begin at the Scutt Road Parking Area and visit Badman Cave, Ashley Falls, and North Point. If you are working on the Catskill All Trails challenge, you will complete the Rock Shelter and Mary's Glen Trail on this hike. Expected to take about six hours, this event is rated as moderate-difficult.

Participants should bring lunch/ snack, water/ drink, layers of winter clothing, microspikes, snowshoes, gaiters, and trekking poles. This hike is limited to 12 people, so please register early. To register, contact Al Purdy at Albertpurdy1@aol.com or Phone: (845) 489-2332 by February 14. Dogs are not permitted on this hike. Be prepared for winter trail and road conditions. Severe weather will postpone the hike.

Directions: From NYS Thruway Exit 20/ Saugerties, turn right onto Route 32 for 5.7 miles. Keep straight onto Route 32a for 1.9 miles. Bear left onto Route 23a for 4.9 miles. Turn right onto North Lake road for around 2.2 miles. Turn right onto Scutt Road and the parking area will be on the right across from the blue-marked Escarpment Trail.
