Rocky and Lone Mountains

Join Marv Freedman and friends for this hike to two of the trailless peaks in the Slide Mountain Wilderness. This combined bushwhack/trail hike/snowshoe to Rocky (3487') and Lone (3700') totals 10.5 miles, is rated as difficult, and will take eight hours. Participants need to bring lunch, as well as the following: hiking Poles with snow baskets; Snow shoes, and a way to carry them on your pack; Traction aids (Micro spikes, trail crampons, etc); Cold weather hiking clothes; Warm hiking boots; Gaiters (recommended); Snacks/Water/Sports Drink (packed so that they are accessible during short breaks, but won't freeze); Headlamps (I hope to finish before dark, but we need to be prepared in case we don't).

Hikers must register for this hike, which is limited to 12 people. To register contact Marv Freedman by January 25 at marvfreedman@gmail.com Dogs are permitted on this hike with the permission of hike leader Marv Freedman.
