Ashokan Rail Trail End to End | Thursday, December 12, 2019 @ 8:15 AM
The new Ashokan Rail Trail has been met with resounding approval. It will be open for its entire length very soon and we will hike it end to end to celebrate its opening. Following the north side of the Ashokan Reservoir, the multi-use trail provides great views along its route. These NYCDEP lands were closed to the public except for fishing and hunting until the trail opened a few weeks ago, so we will enjoy the availability of this route following the long abandoned Ulster and Delaware Railroad for the first time in decades.
