Saturday, May 2, 9:15 AM - Hiking the new FLT Rock Rift Fire Tower trail
Hike to the Pines Lookout Fire tower. This is a new section of the FLT constucted in 2014. It's a 7 mile loop trail. The Pines Fire Tower is the last remaining Catskill Fire Tower on public land that has yet been restored. It is located in the Town of Tompkins, Delaware County overlooking the Cannonsville Reservoir. The tower itself cannot be climbed at this time.This event is a named evert called the Wally Wood Memorial Hike put on by the FLTC. Follow NYS Rte 10 west for approximately 7 miles to the intersection of NYS Rte 268 and the Rte 268 bridge over the Cannonsville Reservoir.
