Sunday, March 26, 10 AM | Late Winter Tree ID Hike in Stone Ridge
Erwin Karl of CMC will join Mid Hudson Mycological Association and member Mira Fink as we embark on a late-winter tree identification hike along the O & W Rail Trail in Stone Ridge. The task of identifying trees may be more challenging before leaf-out, but there are many clues based on bark, shape, location and leaf litter, to name a few. There is a good chance we will also see some bracket or crust fungi, as well as remnants of annual plants.Event Duration: 4-5 miles, 2 hoursLevel of Difficulty: EasyLeader(s): Erwin Karl and Mira Fink of Mid-Hudson Mycological AssociationBring: good hiking shoes, lunch, something to drink.Registration is encouraged.
