Hike the Middle Mountain and Mary Smith Trails

This 5.6-mile hike will begin at the Holiday Brook Parking Area and end on Beech Hill Road. Beech Hill Road will be our meeting place and the end of the hike. We will carpool to Holiday Brook Road to begin the hike. This hike is rated moderate-difficult and is expected to take five-to-six hours, depending on trail conditions.

Participants need to bring water/ drink, lunch/ snacks, extra layers of clothing, and micro spikes. This outing is limited to 12 people, and registration is required by November 1. To register, contact hike leader Al Purdy at Albertpurdy1@aol.com or (845) 489-2332. Please note, dogs are not permitted on this hike, and severe weather will cancel the hike.

Driving directions: From NYS thruway Exit 19 (Kingston) turn right onto Route 28 and follow for 46.4 miles. Turn left onto Route 30 and follow along the Pepacton Reservoir (crossing it at mile 8) for 14.2 miles. Turn left onto Beech Hill Road follow for 3.9 miles and the small parking area will be on your left near the trail register box.

Beech Hill Road can be reached from Old Rte. 17, 1.3 miles west of Livingston Manor. Turn right onto Beaverkill Road and go 8.7 miles, then turn left onto Beech Hill Road. Proceed for 2.6 miles and the parking area is on the right.
