Come discover this section of the FLT from the Downsville Covered Bridge to NYS Rte 206, with a side trip on the Trout Pond trail to Campbell Mt. Road and back. Pass Campbell Mt. Hike to Snake Pond on the Shavertown Trail near the Pepacton Reservoir’s Shavertown Bridge Boat Launch on Sunday August 14 at 10:00 as part of the 91st Andes Community Days. (Check out the festivities in town August 13th!)After a good climb for the first mile there will be a beautiful view overlooking the reservoir. We will enjoy the view and walk around Snake Pond. Sunday, August 13th, 1:00 PM | Paddle the Pepacton
Experience an incredible outdoor adventure, paddling the beautiful Pepacton Reservoir. Join Catskill Mountain Club board member Ann Roberti for a scenic paddle on this recently opened NYC reservoir. Provide your own CANOE or KAYAK or rent from a local business. We will launch promptly at 11AM from the Shavertown Bridge Recreational Boating Launch site on the north side of the bridge. Life jackets required. All boats must be steam cleaned prior to arrival on site and have a valid DEP access sticker. Many vendors store boats on site, requiring only that you visit the store to pay and to pick up paddles and PFDs. Trail Maintenance on Delhi Trails | Saturday, June 17th 8:30 AM
Join the CMC trail crew this Saturday, June 17th from 8:30 to noon for a trail maintenance hike on the Delhi Hiking Trails. Meet at Sheldon Park located on Sheldon Drive, Delhi, NY for assignment. Please R.S.V.P to Amy Beveridge at 607-437-6671. Please bring water, wear appropriate footwear (sneakers or boots), and no dogs are allowed on this maintenance hike.
Delhi Trails Hike for Community Fit Day | Saturday, May 6th 9:00 am
Amy Beveridge will lead a hike on Delhi Trails as part of the Cardio Club's Community Fit Day events.Meet at 9:00AM in Sheldon Park, located at the end of Sheldon Drive, Delhi, NY. (By the school, ice rink, community garden). The hike will take the Sheldon Park Trail head on the Gribley trail to the vista, there participants may turn back to Sheldon Drive or continue on the Gribley Trail to the Lutheran Church trail head and walk the road back their cars. This trail is moderate, with a steep incline for the first .5 mile. Participants should be prepared for a slow pace at the start of the hike, bring water, wear sturdy footwear, and plan for a 2 hour fund adventure. Leashed, friendly dogs are allowed however not encouraged on this hike. Contact Amy Beveridge via cell at 607-437-6671 for questions.

Sunday, April 30th, 10:00 AM | Trail Maintenance on Section 2 of the Dry Brook Ridge Trail and German Hollow Trail
Follow Laura Battelani, CMC Board Member, and David Lucas, volunteers for NY/NJ Trail Conference, as they inspect and clear the trails they adopted for the NY/NJ TC. We’ll hike Pakatakan Mountain and follow the ridge, passing by a 700 years old bog, to arrive to a beautiful look out of the Pepacton Reservoir. The return will be on to German Hollow trail. Wear sturdy hiking boots/shoes, bring water and food and dress in layers for comfort. Sunday, March 26, 10 AM | Late Winter Tree ID Hike in Stone Ridge
Erwin Karl of CMC will join Mid Hudson Mycological Association and member Mira Fink as we embark on a late-winter tree identification hike along the O & W Rail Trail in Stone Ridge. The task of identifying trees may be more challenging before leaf-out, but there are many clues based on bark, shape, location and leaf litter, to name a few. The New York Natural Heritage Program has announced its 2017 schedule of training sessions for the iMapInvasives project. You can help fight invasive species issues around the state by identifying the locations and status of incidents of many types of invasives that threaten New York's naturally occurring species and can cause problems such as erosion, massive mortality of trees, navigation difficulties in waterways and recreational access problems. Meet at Morgan Outdoors, in Livingston Manor, for a brief intro to NY's longest trail, the Finger Lakes Trail, which passes through the Catskills. Meet Rick Roberts, the FLT Coordinator for the Catskill section (90 miles of trail), who constructed several connecting trail sections in our area.After a short talk we will drive to Balsam Lake Mountain trailhead to hike to Balsam Lake Mountain fire tower, on a section of the Finger Lakes Trail. Great views at the summit. Bring snack or lunch to enjoy on the summit. Saturday, June 10th, 10 AM – 5th Anniversary Hike on the Andes Rail Trail
It's the 5th Anniversary of the opening of the Andes Rail Trail. We will be celebrating with a hike on the Rail Trail and Bullet Hole Spur. It's a beautiful time on the trail, with loads of wildflowers and lush views.The group will walk on the railbed portion of the trail and continue on the Bullet Hole Spur. Those who do not want to do the more strenuous Bullet Hole Spur can return to the trailhead.2 miles round trip for railbed only portion, 4 miles round trip for rail trail and Bullet Hole Spurt.No advanced registration necessary — just show up at the trailhead on Cabin Hill Road at 10:00 am.DIRECTIONS: Meet at the train depot on Cabin Hill Road/CR 2 just past the flashing red light in downtown Andes.
